Welcome to this web exhibition of works on paper. Here are 17 works from a series of more than 300 drawings that I completed between August 1997 and 2001. <<The reason that you aren't seeing images is because your browser is not capable of viewing frames.>>
Although I shared some of the images with friends via e-mail and my livejournal as the works were created, this is the first time these works have been seen together on the web.
I've drawn and painted from life since the mid-seventies. I began at UC Davis' Art Department in 1973 and received my BFA from UC Berkeley in 1978. I was a courtroom artist for UPI and drew at the trial of Dan White and others. Since then I've worked in the field of computer graphics, marketing and training. I've continued to draw and paint, mostly among people and landscapes. This is my first set of studio drawings.
I create the works at one sitting. I don't rework any part of the works after the modeling session is over. I often photograph the works in progress as a photographic journal and as a basis for further works.
These images are created from high-resolution scans. Originals and high-quality prints are for sale.
If you are interested in seeing other work, I post current and archival drawings and photographs on my livejournal.
I welcome your comments and questions. Please write to me via: gallery AT dnsf.com.
